Established in 1948 an spun off from Kinki Nippon Railway Co., Ltd., KWE has developed to one of the world’s leading logistics provider and achieved excellent reputation in terms of service and reliability. In January 2008, KWE Bassersdorf opened its own Service Terminal. Since May 2009, KWE is feeding their own Gateway HUB in Frankfurt for the majority of their consolidated weekend shipments. Beginning of 2010, KWE Switzerland invented the “green smiley” service, while a partnership with “myclimate” has been started. This allows the customers to offset the CO2 emission, caused by the airfreight. Since mid of July 2010, KWE Switzerland went online with its own homepage. Up to yet, it is the company’s only country specific website in Europe. It doesn’t only provide a wide variety of contents, but also many interactive tools.

 

KWE’s service is highly appreciated among the Swiss Customers, whereby Air- and Ocean Services to and from the Far East are real winners. Strong focus is also on the routes to and from the Americas and more and more the Middle East and Africa.

 

KWE Switzerland handles a yearly volume of 15‘000 shipments of around 8'000 tons. Main commodities are industrial machinery and their spare parts, precision instruments, tools, electrical appliances and medical equipment. Additionally, temperature controlled medicals and Swiss chocolates are in safe hands at KWE.
